ReelBot is a decision engine, built to help you land on the right choice based on what you’re in the mood for, and why.
On the backend, it combines structured movie data with layered AI, parsing intent, ranking options, and generating recommendations that feel both relevant and reasoned.
What went into it
- Built a layered decision engine (intent parsing → ranking → AI generation)
- Developed custom ranking logic around anchors, tradeoffs, and user context
- Designed structured outputs to ensure consistent, high-quality recommendations
- Implemented user accounts and memory to persist preferences and refine results over time
- Built the system to reduce friction between “what should I watch?” and pressing play

- Built a full ingestion + enrichment pipeline (RSS → AI → Supabase → frontend)
- Designed scoring + filtering to prioritize signal over volume
- Generate tight, structured takeaways so you can get the point quickly
- Runs on a scheduled pipeline (Vercel cron), fully automated end-to-end
