Leylandii is the creation of composer Trev Ledwidge. Having previously released music under the alias ‘Pattanga’, Trev decided to dedicate himself to exploring more enriched post rock compositions.
Hailing from Bray Co. Wicklow, Trev recruited the help of Rian Trench (Solar Bears, Leo Drezden) to produce Leylandii’s first EP, ‘In the Night Garden’.
The EP was recorded at The Meadow in Co. Wicklow. Moving away from solo acoustic guitar pieces, Trev used a mixture of live and electronic drums, acoustic and electric guitar, organs, harmonica and analogue synths. This combination has crafted Leylandii’s pensive and cinematic tone to deliver a premier EP full of powerful melodic hooks and dynamic soundscapes.
The first single ‘Fibonacci’ was released on the 4th October 2017.
